Your wedding day is just the beginning.
Of your marriage. Of the stories. Of things you don’t even know are starting yet.
The moments that feel small today are the ones you’ll talk about forever.
We know what a beginning looks like – and we are always watching for it

Most photographers will tell you they capture moments. That is true and also kind of the bare minimum.
Here is what we actually do.
We get to love on people. On one of the best days of their lives so far, we get to show up and take care of them — carry things for them, literally and figuratively, be the calm in the middle of whatever chaos decides to show up. We get this inside look into the life of a couple and their favorite people, and for that whole day we get wrapped up into it. Like another aunt. Like a best friend’s older sister. Like the older sister they never knew they needed.
We build inside jokes with your people during formals. We learn which grandpa needs five minutes of extra patience and which bridesmaid is going to keep everyone laughing. We bring your food to the table so you can hug your guests without worrying about your dress. We fix your bustle. We change your shoes when the heels become unbearable. We carry your calm – and your lipgloss.
And yeah, we have cameras in our hands the whole time. That part matters too. But if you asked us which part we love the most — honestly, it is the people. Always the people.
And here is the thing I do not say enough: when we go a few weeks without a wedding, I miss it desperately. It is like I am compelled to do this. Even on the days I second-guess whether I am any good at it — I show up, and something switches on in my soul. And I am in the moment and doing what I love most: serving people.
Which is a weird way of saying it since I am not religious at all. But it is true.
If I could do this for free, I would. I love loving on our couples that much.
At one wedding, I watched the bride’s parents reach out and hold fingertips with each other — a small, subconscious thing, completely unrehearsed. Later that same day, I watched the bride and groom do the exact same thing. Same gesture. Same quiet instinct.
I photographed both.
Because that is a legacy of love already living out through a daughter’s relationship. That is the kind of tiny magic most people never see — and it is the thing we are always watching for.
That is what documentary, Story-First photography actually means. Not just capturing what happens. Catching what is happening underneath it.
The camera is how we save it. But finding it — that is the whole job.
We’re Kate and Josh.
Kate has been behind a camera since 1997. She is also a certified wedding coordinator, a classically trained singer, a former marketing VP, an ADHD-powered threat assessment machine, and the person who will show up to your wedding 30 minutes early with everything you forgot you needed. She runs on coffee, true crime podcasts, and a Deathly Hallows tattoo on her wrist – a reminder that the stories we love can outlast our feelings about the people who wrote them.
Josh is the reason we do weddings. That is its own story – but the short version is that he made a plan behind Kate’s back, volunteered her as tribute for a wedding in Oregon, and five minutes in she knew this was her calling. He has been right about things before she knows they are right ever since.
He is also the king of candids. The tear at the exact right second. The belly laugh so real you can feel it through the screen. The moment nobody else knew was happening. Kate finds the good later when she is editing his photos. It is still the best surprise every time.
Between the two of us: one plans, one flows. One talks, one watches. One manages the timeline, one finds the moment the timeline breaks and makes it look intentional. We have been doing this together long enough that we communicate without words across a room full of 200 people.
We arrive at your wedding looking like we are going into battle. Tactical gear, camera harnesses, Hermione bags that are bigger on the inside than they look. People comment that we look like we are going to war. They are not wrong about the preparation part.

Being chosen is not something we take lightly.
Every couple who books us made a choice. They looked at their wedding day – the thing they have been dreaming about and planning for months or years – and they said: we want these people in the room for it.
We do not take that for granted. Not once. Not after 640 weddings.
It is an honor every single time. And we show up like it.
We get to be present for all the things, all the emotions, all the relationships. We get this inside look into the life of a couple and their favorite people. And we get to call that our job.
This is just the beginning.
Some of our past couples fly in from other states for their family sessions now. One family drives six hours from Spokane every Christmas. They have been coming back for six years. Past couples show up at our 4th of July party every year, with their kids, and stay until Josh’s fireworks show ends and the lawn catches fire.
The wedding is just how we meet.
What comes after is up to you – but the door is open and we are genuinely hoping you come back through it.
Some couples become clients. Some become family. We are always hoping for the second one.
Real couples. Real words. No edits.
380+ five-star reviews. The words that come up most often are not ‘beautiful photos’ or ‘professional’ – they are family, calm, safe, knew, noticed, fixed, love, again.
We think those words tell you more about what we actually do than anything we could write here.
Kate and Josh are absolutely exceptional. We hired them for our wedding and no detail was missed. Kate is more than just a photographer, she is positive, energetic, and confident from start to finish. From completely redoing boutonnières, fixing the bustle to my dress that kept falling out, and of course taking incredible photos that were delivered weeks prior than expected, she made us feel confident in the whole day. No matter the occasion, you will not regret hiring this team!
Olivia S 2024Kate and Josh are the best! We used them for both the engagement and wedding photos and I am obsessed with the photos. Kate was so helpful with picking out outfits and a location for our engagement shoot. We really wanted to show off the Pacific Northwest and Kate found us the best location. When the wedding day came they were both so calm and collected I didn’t have to worry about if we were on schedule or what we needed to do next, Kate had everything under control. This allowed both my husband and I to be present in the day and soak up all that was happening around us. Throughout the whole day they laughed with us, danced with us and showered us with complements. We had the best day with vendors who felt like friends and were just as excited to be there as we were!

Kate and Josh were absolutely amazing!!! Our day would not have been what it was without their incredible attention to detail, energy, and professionalism! From the first phone consultation all the way through the whole process, we knew that we had chosen the best available. When you work with GSquared you not only get an amazing photographer duo, but you also get an incredible amount of insight and experience from a business that has been making weddings amazing for many years. Kate and Josh made our day unbelievably easy. Whether it was moving through our photos with unbelievable efficiency, having plates made up on our behalf, or making sure our cups never ran dry, we couldn't imagine how our day would have gone without all of their effort. It was like they were everywhere! Despite how present they were, they never seemed out of place. All that, and we haven't even mentioned the photos. They were absolutely stunning! They captured our love and energy in a way that we didn't even know was possible. With so many to choose from it's difficult to say what our favorites were, we just loved them all so much! If you choose to to work with GSquared, we can say without a doubt, you will not be disappointed!
Hailey B 2024Our wedding was absolutely perfect. With that knowledge, I can honestly say hiring Kate to not only photograph, but also assist with planning and coordination, was the single best decision we made throughout the entire planning process. She is a force of nature, and we are forever grateful to her, Josh, and the rest of the GSquared family for orchestrating our dream wedding. Kate’s attention to detail is unparalleled.. and she has the ability to make even the most inexperienced model feel like a goddess. More than that, her ability to read any room, anticipate needs, and provide ‘unreasonable hospitality’ for her clients is what sets her apart from the rest. She advocated for me at times when needed, shielded me from problems until there was a solution, and made game time decisions to bring my vision to life. What more could any bride ask for in a planning partner? Kate was so much more than a vender, and I can’t wait to drop in for holiday mini’s in the years to come. Thank you, Kate!

Deep in the planning trenches? We’ve been there 640 times.
Our blog is built for couples actually planning a wedding – not just looking at pretty pictures. Venue guides, real wedding stories, planning advice, and everything we wish more couples knew before the big day.
We book limited weddings each year on purpose. The kind of presence we bring to a wedding day requires us to actually be present — not everywhere at once.
If your date is available, reach out. Tell us about your people. Tell us the inside jokes and the family dynamics and the moments you most want to exist in photographs forever.
We will show up like it is an honor.
Because it is.
We made the process simple on purpose. Planning a wedding is already a lot. From your first inquiry to the moment your gallery lands in your inbox, every step is designed to keep you informed, comfortable, and confident that you made the right call.
12 to 18 months is the comfortable window. That said, we do sometimes have shorter-notice dates open - especially mid-week and off-season - and we don't believe in scarcity-based pressure. If your date is closer in, check our availability calendar before assuming it's too late.
Yes. Most Washington State weddings don't have travel fees. We've photographed in 100+ Snohomish County venues but we're also active across Seattle, Kitsap, Skagit, Whatcom, San Juans, and beyond. Outside Washington, we travel anywhere in the United States. Ask us - we'll send a custom quote.
Reach out through the contact form or availability calendar. We'll schedule a quick call (or coffee, if you're local) to talk through your day and what you're looking for. No pressure to book, no sales pitch - just a conversation so we can both find out if we're the right team for each other.
Yes. Our Journey Package is wedding-day photography only - no engagement session included. If you've already done one, or you don't want one, Journey is built for you. Engagement sessions are completely optional and we'll never push you toward one.
Kate has been photographing since 1997. Josh started in 2011. We've photographed 640+ weddings together across more than 15 years, specifically in the Seattle and Snohomish County area.
That's not a number for its own sake. It means when your timeline runs 20 minutes late, when clouds roll in over your outdoor ceremony, or when your reception venue is lit exclusively by Edison bulbs and bad overhead lighting - we've been there. Hundreds of times. We know exactly what to do.
As a husband-and-wife team, we also bring something no two-photographer strangers can replicate. We communicate without words, we read rooms together, and we move through your day as a unit. Field experience doesn't just produce better photos - it protects your whole day experience.
Honestly, you'll know pretty quickly. If you've read this far and thought "okay, these people feel like mine" - trust that. We're built for couples who want their wedding day to feel like themselves, not like a magazine spread. Couples who want a team that shows up - not just with cameras, but as timeline-holders, veil-fixers, granola-bar-deliverers, and two people who will absolutely tear up at your first look.
We're not the right fit for everyone, and that's okay - we'll tell you honestly if we're not. But if you want two people who'll show up early, stay late, cry at the first look, and keep the timeline running gently in the background, that's us.
That's exactly what we do.
In Snohomish County in 2026, full-day wedding photography typically runs $3,000 to $10,000+. Most couples working with an experienced, full-time photographer invest between $4,500 and $8,000.
What changes the number: hours of coverage, one or two photographers, years of experience, editing style, and what's included (prints, albums, second photographers, travel). Washington state sales tax of about 8.5-10.5% applies on top.
GSquared starts at $4,500 for nine hours of two-photographer coverage with all your digital images and full print rights. Nothing hidden. No surprise upsells. No tier where you have to choose which parts of your wedding day get photographed.
For a full breakdown, read our Snohomish County wedding photography pricing guide.
Documentary, story-first. In plain English: we're capturing what's actually happening on your wedding day, not directing it. The candid laugh in the middle of vows. The flower girl losing it during the recessional. Your dad's face when he sees you for the first time. That's the work.
We do guided posing for portraits because most people aren't trained models and a little direction helps everyone feel comfortable, but the rest of the day is yours.
Our editing is true to life. We call it Color Integrity. Your skin tone stays your skin tone. The colors you chose stay the colors you chose. Five, ten, twenty years from now, your wedding photos will still feel like your wedding - because we weren't editing for a trend.

Kate and Josh’s story with us began long before they photographed our wedding. We first met them at a wedding when my now-husband and I weren’t even dating yet. Something about the way we looked at each other caught their attention. They were convinced we’d been together for years. They asked if we’d be willing to do a “fake” engagement shoot with them, and by the time the photos happened, we were officially dating. Fast forward four years, and when we got engaged, there was never a question of who we wanted to photograph our wedding. Kate and Josh were the only choice. And wow, did they deliver. Not only are they incredibly talented photographers with an amazing eye for capturing the perfect shot, but they are also some of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They made us feel comfortable, celebrated, and completely ourselves throughout the entire process. The photos they captured are beyond anything we could have imagined. They preserved not just how our wedding looked, but how it felt: the joy, the emotion, and all the little moments in between. I cannot recommend Kate and Josh highly enough. Whether you’re looking for engagement photos, wedding photography, maternity photos, or any other milestone worth remembering, they will capture it beautifully and leave you absolutely awestruck.
