Summer sunshine and a Lord Hill Farm wedding = an amazing day to be sure.
From the moment we met Amanda and Dallas in a coffee shop, we adored them. They bounced off each other’s energy – Amanda bubbly and vivacious, Dallas reserved and kind. They make a great match. Throughout planning, their sweet thoughtfulness was in every detail – and even more so showed itself on their Lord Hill Farm wedding day. From tender tears and stories to laughter and inside jokes, you could tell that not only do they love each other, but they are fiercely loved by those in their lives.
I’ll let Amanda tell their sweet story leading up to today:
How did the two of you meet?
Both of us are teachers in Skykomish, WA.  Dallas teaches 2nd and 3rd grade, I teach Middle School.  We were friends for a year before we started to date.  We went to a retreat and sparks flew.  The next weekend we went on our first date.  It was the day before his birthday and he mentioned he was going to the movies with a friend and asked if I wanted to come too.  Conveniently, his friend didn’t come.  🙂
Tell us all the awesome proposal details.
We had been talking about getting married for a little while and I knew Dallas had the ring. Â My dad retired in March 2017 and had a big party in my hometown of Idaho Falls to celebrate. Â We talked and decided that that was not the time or place to get engaged (I didn’t want to take away from my dad’s day). Â Unbeknownst to me, my dad was insisting Dallas propose in Idaho Falls! Â So on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) we had a big party for my dad’s retirement. Â Dallas asked me to go on a walk to get away from all of the oodles of people he didn’t know. Â While on our walk he stopped, got down on one knee, called me his “little kumquat” and asked me to marry him. Â My ring has an emerald which is the birthstone for May. Â Both of our birthdays are in May and we started dating in May. We went back to the party and were serenaded by the bag pipe band that was there for St. Patrick’s Day. Â It was amazing.
Is there any special reason you chose your Lord Hill Farm wedding venue?
We went on a hike at Lord Hill Regional Park early in our relationship and we both love the area. Â We love the huge windows in the ceremony space and the fact that the venue itself is so beautiful we didn’t have to do too much to make it ready for the wedding.
Are there any DIY pieces to your wedding?
We made all the centerpieces from clear bottles that we spray painted and all the flowers (except the bride’s bouquet and mom’s corsage) are from Pike Place Market.
If we ran in to you on a relaxed weekend, what would you be doing?
We would either be at home curled up on the couch watching Netflix, on a walk around a park in the sunshine, or going to the movie theater.
