Dinosaurs, Stars & Master Chief ... a Carnation Farms Wedding

How did the two of you meet?
Once upon a time, in a far away land Lauren hung out with some dude. That night, before Lauren got up to leave, a stranger walked in the door, adorned in a helmet and thick riding jacket (safety first!). Lauren’s curiosity was piqued…who was this helmeted stranger and what did he look like (because clearly that is all she cared about)? This mysterious man FINALLY removed his helmet and Lauren and Eric locked eyes. At that moment they both knew…it was on like Donkey Kong. After a few hellos and nice gestures, Eric asked if Lauren wanted Taco’s…and that’s it. Game was over. She stole his hoodies, they eventually fell madly in love, adopted a puppy (after Lauren broke down in a Target dog aisle), and with no where else to go they’ve decided to get married. The End.

Tell me the awesome proposal details.
Eric surprised me the day before my birthday with a “camping trip” with close friends on Whidbey Island. Since we got on the ferry “early”, we had time to kill before everyone got to the campsite. Eric decided to take me and the dog to my favorite place in the world; Fort Casey. My mom had been taking me here since I was a baby, I have many fond memories, and took Eric here on our first real date over 9 years ago. To throw me off the scent, Eric and I walked around the park grounds then onto the beach. Eric asked if I wanted to take a picture (which he HATES and never would ask), then he got down on one knee, said some things that will be kept to me, asked me to marry him and I responded with “are you sure? I’m kinda annoying.” instead of waiting for a response, I took the ring, put it on, and jumped up and down.

Why did you choose your venue?
When we walked onto the grand Carnation Farms wedding lawn, both myself and Eric felt at home. There was a certain draw the venue had on us. We knew right away it encapsulated us and who we are together.

What is the theme to your Carnation Farms wedding?
Classic, subtle, with hints of video games and dinosaurs (us in a nutshell really).

Do you have any DIY or special decor or moments?
Hidden dinosaurs on the tables and cute treats from our dog to theirs 😉
We will also have a Queso fountain … and a surprise dance for bride/dad. No one knows, so SHHHHHH (there’s a video of that on this post!!).
Oh, and Master Chief from Halo is our surprise groomsman.

If we bumped in to you on a relaxed weekend, what would you be doing?
Grabbing a light breakfast and taking Leeloo (Corbin Dallas Multipass) Luna  (our dog) on an adventure. We REALLY love our dog.

  • I love all the photos of the bride and groom, but those dinosaurs throwing flowers had me laughing! This looks like such a fun wedding!
