Frequently Asked Questions

What is the average total cost of a wedding in the Snohomish and Seattle area?

The average wedding spend in the greater Seattle-Snohomish market runs around $40,000, though the range is wide. Couples who prioritize a full-service venue with catering included, a professional DJ, and a mid-market photographer can get to a full-day experience in the $25,000-$35,000 range. Couples with larger guest lists, full floral installations, or luxury venues regularly spend $60,000-$80,000. The pricing tiers above reflect what established, professional vendors charge for quality work in this market.

Which vendors should we book first, and how early?

The four vendors that book out fastest in Snohomish County are venues, photographers, videographers, and popular DJs – all should be secured 12-18 months out for peak-season (May-October) Saturday dates. Hair and makeup artists with strong reputations book 12+ months out, especially for larger bridal parties. Coordinators, florists, and officiants are more flexible but still benefit from 9-12 months of lead time.

Do most wedding vendors require a deposit, and are payment plans available?

Yes to both. Most professional vendors require a non-refundable retainer (typically 25-50% of the total) to hold your date, with the balance due 30-90 days before the wedding. Payment plans are common – many photographers, videographers, and planners offer 3-4 payment installments over the engagement period. Get payment schedules in writing in the contract and confirm what happens to your retainer if you need to reschedule.

  • […] 9. Talk Budget. This will determine every part of your wedding. When you’re talking budget, make sure you talk about what things are most important to you, and set aside a larger amount to pay for that. Also, ask your family members (mom & dad, grandparents) to know if they’re going to pitch in – and find out how much, and when. Most vendors will take payments, but they’ll need a “retainer fee” to book the date on their calendar. {What are most brides in our area spending on their weddings? Click here and see!} […]

  • I love that you provided a price range for each service! And that they are local to your area!
